About Us: Ministry Team
Our Interim Pastor:
Wayne Wright has been pastoring churches since his graduation from Seminary in 1982 as Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor and now Interim Pastor. He and his wife Candie have been involved in the leadership of 5 churches throughout Manitoba and Ontario with the Baptists and Associated Gospel Churches of Canada. Presently, in addition to serving as interim pastor here at Melrose, Wayne is a Chaplain in Long Term Care in the GTA, serving a very neglected and vulnerable segment of our society. He leads regular Bible Studies, does 1:1 counselling and holds church services and has a small group ministry in 4 different LTC homes in our city.
Our Ministry Assistant:
Ms. Pat Promney joined the staff of Melrose in November 1998, although she has been a part of the church for most of her life. Pat brings a rich background of compassionate Christian service, having served at Yonge Street Mission for 20 years in family ministries. Pat gives her time to Ladies’ Ministries, Prayer Coordination, and Bible Study, as well as filling out her week with some office duties. The congregation benefits from her deeply relational ministry.
Our Church Board:
We have a group of men and women who serve as our deacons. They are responsible for specific areas of our overall ministry and meet monthly to support our maturing as a church.
Our Congregation:
We come together from a variety of backgrounds and ages, families and singles, a good number from the local community, although many drive in a little further. We work hard at making everyone feel like they belong in the Melrose family!
